Auckland's Rainbow Hub

Te Whare Āniwaniwa, a place to belong

Stripey blobs.png

Te Whare Āniwaniwa | Rainbow Hub, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is a planned LGBTQI+ centre to house our rainbow organisations  together

This will be a space where all our diverse rainbow+ communities are safe, seen, and celebrated

More than a community space, a rainbow centre brings rainbow people together and drives positive social change

Contesting challenges
and disparities

Our rainbow communities face disproportionately negative outcomes, particularly in the areas of physical, social, and mental wellbeing. A rainbow+ centre will be a space where rainbow community members are safe and where support services can collaborate and provide accessible and convenient care.

Bringing communities together

A sense of belonging is essential for individual and community wellbeing. A rainbow+ community centre will create a place for all members of our rainbow community to belong, socialise and forge connections with others.

Promoting belonging
and participation

The many diverse rainbow community groups need a space where they can come together, connect, and understand each other.  A space to meet will increase understanding and solidarity between rainbow community members. A rainbow centre is a place to bring diverse community group members together to form stronger bonds.

Celebrating our
diversity

Our rainbow communities in Tāmaki Makaurau are often invisible to the wider public. This inhibits understanding and tolerance and promotes stigma.

Our rainbow centre will proudly celebrate the full diversity of our communities.
